RIM Seeks Web/Graphics Designer
Are you a Web/Graphics Designer with mobile interactive experience interested in a full-time gig at Research In Motion (RIM)?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The designer will be part of the team responsible for BlackBerry Messenger Development at RIM’s Mississauga location (4701 Tahoe Blvd. Mississauga, ON)
The designer will be responsible to create interactive user interfaces in both web and mobile applications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in design or related discipline
3 or more years of experience in developing web applications in HTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, Flash, AIR, XML
Knowledge in developing dynamic data-driven web applications
Portfolio of work containing samples of web development and other graphical/media designs
Experience in prototyping/storyboarding and graphics design
ADDITIONAL ASSETS:
Background in software development life cycle and Java programming
Knowledge of server-side web technologies such as PHP, JSP, and Linux platform

We are looking for a web designer / developer to help design, implement and test our digital collateral and web applications as part of our dynamic Interactive Services Team. Our work environment demands a commitment to quality, ability to meet tight deadlines, and a willingness to work in an open-concept, team-oriented atmosphere. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Interactive Services.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the design and execution of web-based marketing collateral
• Update content on TIFF’s web properties using HTML / XHTML / CSS
• Content conversion into various text based delivery formats
• Adhere to quality code and conduct unit testing
• Meet deadlines and manage workload expectations

SENIOR PRODUCTION COORDINATOR, INTERACTIVE SERVICES
Start Date: JUNE 2010
We are looking for a Senior Production Coordinator to administer the production and execution of our digital collateral and be an integral part of our dynamic Interactive Services team. Our work environment demands a commitment to quality, ability to meet tight deadlines, and a willingness to work in an open-concept, team-oriented atmosphere. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Interactive Services. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to manage projects, ensure project deliverables are met, manage resources, document and monitor project execution.
Responsibilities:
The main responsibility for the Senior Coordinator is to manage deadlines established from production requests. This requires managing resources to ensure deliverables are completed and approved on time. This individual also provides detailed written documentation, monitoring and reporting of all project timelines and deliverables. This requires extensive communication with internal staff, including our Marketing and Programming teams as main stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Developing timelines based on production requests assigned by stakeholders
• Ensure delivery of collateral material determined by various projects
• Coordinate delivery schedule with internal stakeholders (i.e. Marketing)
• Provide accurate scope for project deliverables
• Troubleshoot execution process, focusing on communication with internal partners (i.e. Creative Services)
• Work closely with Content Coordinator to ensure website content is provided on-time and is of high quality; representative of our master brand and its position in the marketplace.
• Facilitate change management for all web properties.
• Communicate timeline status and resource use for all projects to Senior Manager
• Facilitate department sign-off of collateral as required.
• Submit proofs for external departmental approval
Openfile is a web/experience design start-up based in Liberty Village specializing in the intersection of content and design and the impact the experience provides to the end-user. We are currently seeking a junior developer with a passion for design to join our team on a full-time contract basis.
• Strong understanding and experience with CSS and HTML
• Strong understanding and experience working in PHP
• Experience using MySQL databases
• Experience with Javascript preferred (specifically JQuery)
• Experience with AJAX would be considered an asset
Content Management Framework:
A knowledge of Drupal would be considered an asset
Software Knowledge Requirements:
Adobe Dreamweaver: We manage our sites through Dreamweaver so a strong understanding and experience is critical. Although the selected candidate must be able to edit in code view and may not rely soley on using the GUI.
Social Media & Feeds:
An understanding of feed and social media integration into a site would be considered an asset

It’s an attempt at a visual way to search topic online. For CBC it represents the first time we’ve really publicly mapped one of our shows.
