Peanut Butter & Code Jams are short, hackathon- style workshops for developers and creatives. We mix two technologies that are great on their own — but taste better together.
Supplied: a quick introductory presentation on the technology being sandwiched, code samples to bootstrap your hacking, food, and cheap drinks.
You bring: your laptop, skills & ideas. Come with a collaborative mindset and/or team up in advance on Twitter or Google+ via the #pbcj hashtag.
The focus for Karma Laboratory’s first ever PBCJ is:
Android apps and NFC (near field communications)
Who is PBCJ #1 best suited for?
If you are currently an Android developer but haven’t dabbled much with NFC or haven’t set aside the time to play around with it, you’ll get the most out of PBCJ. There will be NFC tags on hand but bring your own NFC-enabled phone. If you instead want to play around with other NFC projects (e.g. NFC and Arduino), feel free to jam on that this evening too! If you’re a designer or business person, you might want to get a developer friend to come along. Or get up to speed with some of the tutorials on the Android Developer site: http://developer.android.com/resources/index.html.
