WeroGame is offering a paid, 3 month internship project to develop mobile research, UX and some UI for WeroGame (with Toronto-based company WeroCreative) for an undergraduate or graduate student with the following skills:

  • Good technical and design research and writing skills
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in PHP and preferably has some CakePHP experience
  • Familiar with LAMP setup
  • Familiar with Ubuntu servers

Project Description:

Currently WeroGame has been designed to deliver content into the classroom to facilitate collaborative learning.  It allows teachers to manage their students as groups of users, and deliver them educational content based on their collective progress through a variety of learning challenges. For teachers, it allows a level of control and engagement with students, where previously sitting kids behind the computer was a recipe for chaos. WeroGame’s current content package is called Rock Mars, and uses flash games, video content related to Discovery Channel’s Race To Mars television series, and a graphic novel component to teach science, math, social sciences, and digital media literacy. For this stage of the project we expect to develop a fully functioning, mobile-enabled locative content delivery system.

Xtreme Mobility is offering a paid, 3 month internship project to develop mobile interfaces and integration for Xtreme Mobility (a Toronto-based company focusing on the development of an m-commerce application) for one undergraduate or graduate student with the following skills:

  • CS3, CS4 (PhotoShop primarily)
  • CSS
  • HTML, HTML5
  • Javascript
  • Some experience with mobile clients (Objective C, Android, etc)

Project Description:

XM has developed a number of mobile commerce applications, including XMOne and XMPay.  There are currently some prototypes that have been developed, which are complementary to the existing suite of applications.  For these new prototypes, an improved UI is required to complete the product.

ARDevCamp (Toronto’s first unconference devoted to Augmented Reality Applications and Technology) is seeking volunteers to help out with an all-day event happening at OCAD on Saturday February 27, 2010. Students are needed to help out with registration, photo documentation and organization, as well as participation in the event.

This is a great opportunity to get involved and learn about an emerging technology, meeting researchers,  entrepreneurs, designers, geeks and others interested in AR.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Supervising Producer, Interactive Production, oversees the production of interactive projects for the TV division from development through to delivery, ensuring financial planning, stability and appropriate execution.

At development, the Supervising Producer would be involved in budgeting and scheduling as well as ensuring the creative direction is in line with both the brand’s needs and production process, working with the Interactive Producers, Director of Interactive, Creative Director, or others as required.

Throughout production, the Supervising Producer would oversee systems in place, designing and implementing improvements as needed to keep projects on schedule, on budget and on brand.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading and inspiring a team of designers and developers, as well as excellent client relationships which require an understanding of all legal definitions, delivery procedures/requirements, standards and practice.

The Supervising Producer will oversee the operations of the production team, track tax credits and budgets, and ensure that productions proceed in a manner that produces high quality results as well as meeting the financial and legal requirements of Corus.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Centre Administrator, supports the Centre Administrator in conducting, co-ordinating and following up all non-filmic activities of the Ontario Centre. Contributes to the production coordination activities and liaises with Business Affairs and Legal Services to administer production related files.  Acts as the Centre’s contact or resource person for activities related to tenant and building services and software familiarization. Provides administrative support in various areas for the Centre.

QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma of Collegial Studies in the office administration or secretarial field and two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; good understanding of budgetary procedures; good mathematical abilities; good knowledge of Oracle; understanding of contracts and related issues. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Filemaker; speed and precision in data processing; ability to work in a team; ability to administer simultaneously several dossiers in an active environment and to maintain good interpersonal relationships; other personal qualities such as judgment, autonomy, speed, accuracy, good control of stress, tact and sense of organization. Knowledge of English is essential.

SALARY: Between $40,186 and $48,875

Research groups and interested parties who could be interested in our films and spread the word on the films and activities that we’ll be doing to the relevant online press and bloggers, etc.
Respond to the outreach in a timely and appropriate manner
Create a regular newsletter / email
And do other various outreach research for us

We’re based in Toronto, and we’d prefer it if they were too.
Whilst this could be home based, we’d like them in our offices to begin with.
