Congratulations go out to alumnus James Milward and the team at The Secret Location! We are proud to announce their two South By Southwest Interactive Awards nominations in the Film and TV, and the Social Media categories respectively.
‘Storming Juno’
The Secret Location extended the narrative of History Television’s Storming Juno, a docudrama about the storming of Juno Beach on D-Day, June 6 1944. StormingJuno.com acts as a space where users are able to extend the veteran’s stories and view a 360-degree rotating view of Juno Beach in Normandy. Users can also browse through other artifacts and share these online in their Facebook and Twitter feeds. This project was nominated in the film and television category.
Stanfield’s ‘Guy at Home in His Underwear’
The Secret Location teamed up with John St to reinvent the image of Stanfields, the result was http://guyathome.com/ , an online social campaign supporting men with testicular cancer. “The Guy”, a testicular cancer survivor, was recorded and streamed online for 25 days straight in an effort to gather 25,000 “Likes” on Facebook. Stanfields agreed to donate $1 for each of the “Likes” to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Good luck James and the team at The Secret Location, we’re rooting for you!
