NXNE is looking for panel discussions and presentations that will provide a rich and valuable experience for attendees. The topics can cross a multitude of disciplines that intersect with Interactive at some point. We’ve intentionally left out a “categories” field on the submission form because we don’t want to box in your imaginations. Read through the following points and then go ahead and send us your panel and/or presentation ideas for NXNE Interactive.
NXNEi 2012 will take place in Toronto, from June 13-16th at the Hyatt Regency on King St.
All submissions must be in by midnight November 11th.
By submitting a proposal you are not guaranteed acceptance and even after
NXNE accepts a proposal and they maintain the right to cancel it at any time.
NXNEi generally does not offer honorariums or cover travel costs for
presentation/panel submissions. If accepted all people involved in the
presentation will receive conference badges and music festival passes.
If you submit a panel idea, NXNE expects that you will be able to commit
the time necessary to help organize the panel, including finding panelists
and moderators.
NXNE will review and possibly suggest some panelists regardless of the
panelists you put on your panel submissions.
Prix Ars Electronica Collide@CERN is the new international competition for digital artists to win a residency at CERN, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory in Geneva. It is the first prize to be announced as part of the new Collide@CERN artists residency programme initiated by the laboratory.

TITLE: Online Design Specialist
FUNCTION: Reporting to the Director, Marketing, this role focuses on online graphic production, based on Porter graphic standards. This role creates a powerful integrated experience across a wide spectrum of applications, including the Porter website, paid media, social media, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integrates online and print creative
Creates and produces final digital files, for internal and external applications
Supports the current and proposed Porter website, including product architecture and navigation
Designs, code and loads eblasts
Updates and upgrades the marketing portion of Porter website , including content, format, SEO, static and motion
Uploads or delivers materials to all media as required, and liaises with outside production departments
Develops new marketing materials in different formats based on current graphic standards
Maintains accurate online files of graphic design materials
Develops presentations, including multi-media
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Any other duties as requested by the Director, Marketing
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graphic Design degree/diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution
Minimum of 3 years of experience
Advanced development knowledge with Flash, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript
Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Solid understanding of design and ability to work with complex design specifications
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere
Experience working on public-facing websites
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Keen aptitude for communicating with both technical and non-technical resources
Excellent conceptual and creative skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and accept direction

With her company Eventide Media she is in development on three documentaries, most notably The Hanging of Angelique, based on the novel by Afua Cooper. With her company she has worked as a consultant with several Canadian production companies and convergent projects such as Direct Current’s 4Real.com website. In the past, she was the Director of Communications at DECODE Entertainment Inc., in Toronto. She has an award-winning portfolio of work ranging in both television and multimedia, and has an array of experience in entertainment production, new media, marketing, and corporate communications.
Davin Trent Lengyel is a Toronto-based television and New Media producer. He is currently Co-Producer for the world-famous television series Pure Pwnage and is preparing to release his own indie series Brotherhood of Leet.
