PROGRAMS & OUTREACH COORDINATOR
EMMEDIA is seeking a Programs & Outreach Coordinator to develop, initiate and coordinate artistic programming activity, outreach and community dialogue for a not-for-profit electronic media arts centre.
The successful candidate has professional experience working with a non-profit artist-run centre and possesses knowledge of the media arts and new media in Canada. You have a proven record of accomplishment in grant writing and an understanding of principle arts funding agencies. You have exceptional communication/interpersona
l skills, project/event management experience, and strong organizational and administrative abilities. The Programs & Outreach Coordinator possesses curatorial skills and is attuned to contemporary arts and media arts practices. This position requires someone who understands the importance of responding to the needs of the membership and the local community, balanced with the development of programming, links and partnerships that are local, regional, national and/or international. Critical thinking and writing abilities are significant assets and new media skills highly desirable, as you will coordinate and lead the ongoing development of EMMEDIA’s on-line presence, and for its publication, promotion and communication activities.The Programs & Outreach Coordinator works closely with the Operations Coordinator, Programming Committee, Production Coordinator, Board of Directors and EMMEDIA membership to develop programming strategies. You must be fluent in the art of collaboration, be able to work flexible hours and possess the ability to create and sustain a welcoming environment. You will have good humour, a sense of fun and the desire to be part of a team that leads a nationally recognized electronic media arts centre into the next decade.
EMMEDIA Gallery and Production Society is a non-profit artist run centre that responds to the needs of the media arts/cultural community, in Alberta and across Canada, by providing affordable access to high quality electronic tools, education and services. The Society also maintains public media arts exhibition programs, archives and other resources. EMMEDIA has established ongoing support from all levels of government, as well as its own self-generated revenues. Building on a proud 30-year history, EMMEDIA looks toward a dynamic future.
