Allow me to introduce “Off Camera”, a not-for-profit group of visual artists who work in the film business. Last year they hosted two successful art exhibitions and now, after hundreds of volunteer hours they are proud to have organized a massive exhibition at the newly-built Filmport Studios. Filmport is fully behind the project and has supplied them with an 18,000 sq ft studio in which to hang their work and to host an opening party.
The Toronto film industry hasn’t had a lot to celebrate in 2008 but we must move forward with confidence and optimism. This show draws its enormous importance from the times we find ourselves in, where we need to draw attention to the wealth of talent in I.A.T.S.E. and the DGC who are participating in this project.
This is our chance to celebrate. This is our chance to educate. This is our chance to salvage something positive from 2008. Come on out to the opening Oct 3rd. You can look forward to a silent art auction, live entertainment and a chance to let your hair down. See you there.
Our big opening is
Friday Oct 3rd, 6pm-1am
at Filmport Studios 225 Commissioners St. in TorontoContact: offcamera873 AT gmail DOT com
